This year’s Read for the Record Day is all about the Jumpstart selected book, entitled, "Thank you Omu! "and locally selected book entitled, "Icky, Sticky, Patchy Monster." The Jumpstart selected book is about sharing, caring and appreciation.  Your school can share with students the transformational power of giving and its role in uplifting the hearts and minds of others, especially those who are most in need.

Our theme for Trinidad and Tobago RFRD 2019 is Sharing is Caring- One Community to transform lives within and outside their schools.  We are requesting all schools to select a theme identified in the school preparation and activity guides to ensure that our artistic and written messages are  purposeful and motivational.

The story of Thank you Omu! is about giving of oneself and the influential power of community. When we give unconditionally, like Omu, and work together, people around us can experience the power of our love and kindness.

Let us do the same in Trinidad and Tobago on November 7th, 2019.

We also request your participation in R2R Green Space We Care on RFRD by reading the book, "Icky, Sticky, Patchy Monster"  by Ananda Poon and Andrea Gruny. Both are young, fledgling authors to be supported and acknowledged.

We return with this environmental theme to remind ourselves that saving our environment is a life long commitment.  Let's continue to spread a message of sharing is caring to create one community of hope and joy.

ALL SCHOOLS: As tradition,

Bridge Foundation donates books to schools and requests schools to engage in reading centered activities on Read for the Record Day (RFRD) to encourage reading and promote literacy. Bridge Foundation provides a school preparation activity guide book and a record sheet and schools count reading participation.
